Minden plans celebration day for Super Bowl champion L’Jarius Sneed

by Amber McDown

The City of Minden is gearing up for a grand celebration honoring hometown hero L’Jarius Sneed, two-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs. The event, titled “The Red & White 38-SNEED’EM Celebration Day,” is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2024.

Event organizers are calling on the community to show their support by donning red and white attire. “Let’s paint the city red!” exclaimed Randy Tims, one of the organizers.

The festivities will kick off with a parade in downtown Minden starting at 11 AM, followed by a lively celebration at the Minden Recreation Center Complex. The event promises music, games, and free food for children, along with appearances by special guests, including a former NFL Super Bowl champion defensive back.

Organizers are seeking donations of any amount and any kind, including chips, snacks, water, hotdogs, buns, napkins, plates, sodas, popcorn, and toy gift items. Volunteers are also needed to help with the event. Randy Tims or Michael Walker can be contacted for donations or to volunteer. Tims emphasized, “Every single dollar we collect will go toward this event.”

This celebration marks a proud moment for Minden as they honor one of their own who has achieved great success on football’s biggest stage.
