Minden’s first annual Oktoberfest was an unforgettable evening of fun, music, food, and charity. The event, hosted by Round Table Events and generously supported by title sponsor Diamond W Contracting, took place in downtown Minden this past Saturday. Proceeds from the event benefited the Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry (JLFP), supporting their mission to fight hunger in the community.
The event featured a traditional Biergarten with tables and chairs for guests to enjoy the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Attendees participated in fun and familiar games such as cornhole, as well as new ones like stein hoisting, where competitors tested how long they could hold up a one-liter stein.
A charity cornhole tournament, hosted by Fibrebond, was held that evening. Teams paid a $50 entry fee for a chance to win cash prizes of $500, $250, and $100 for the top three teams, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to JLFP.
The winners this year included:
Shawn Archer and Brian Smith in third place.
Kevin Hagedorn and Bruce Stroud in second place.
Cannon Hatcher and Jason Hicks in first place.
Local restaurants Roma, Under Dawgs, and Shugs partnered to offer exclusive Oktoberfest-themed food and drinks throughout the event. Five local musicians, including Meredith Nelson, Rudy Armstrong & Will Colvin, The Justin Sanders Band, Flight Delay, The Leif Shively Band, and DJ Troy, provided live entertainment. For football fans, the LSU vs. Ole Miss was displayed on a 20-foot projection.
Minden’s first annual Oktoberfest was not only a celebration of community spirit and fun but also a tremendous success in supporting a worthy cause. With lively music, delicious food, and friendly competition, the event brought people together in the true spirit of giving. Thanks to the support of sponsors, local businesses, and participants, the Oktoberfest made a meaningful contribution to the Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry, helping to fight hunger and uplift the community.
