Miss Minden 2025 competition to spotlight local talent

by Amber McDown

The Young Women’s Service Club (YWSC) will host the 2025 Miss Minden competition on Saturday, January 18, at 7 PM in the Minden High School auditorium.

The community event highlights the grace, talent, and ambition of local young women competing for the titles of Miss Minden and Miss Minden Teen. Last year’s Miss Minden, Maison Wilbanks, will crown her successor during the evening’s festivities.

This year’s Teen contestants include Aynslea Maus, a 16-year-old student at Glenbrook High School; Landry Edwards, age 15, also attending Glenbrook High School; Kynzie Smith, a 15-year-old Glenbrook student; and Piper Mandino, age 14, who also attends Glenbrook High School.

In the Miss category, Jolie Ortego, a 19-year-old attending Stephen F. Austin, will compete alongside Adreaunna Scott, age 23, who studies at Southern University; Grace Powell, a 24-year-old student at Louisiana Christian University; Nilah Pollard, age 20, attending Northwestern State University of Louisiana; Piper Cottrell, a 19-year-old student at the University of Louisiana Monroe; and Sa’Maya Boxley, age 18, who attends Bossier Parish Community College.

The YWSC is spotlighting a different candidate each day on their Facebook page with photos and biographical information. The organization invites residents to attend and support these outstanding young women as they compete for the honor of representing Minden. Tickets for the competition will be available at the door.
