A convicted felon was arrested for reportedly stealing three guns from a Dogwood Trail residence.

Cody Ray Waller, 23, of the 3000 block of Highway 139 in Monroe, was arrested Monday, Feb. 29, for three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bond was set at $100,000.

On the date of Waller’s arrest, Webster Parish Sheriff’s Sgt. T.D. Kemp Jr., learned Waller was already incarcerated on other offenses related to the Dogwood Trail burglary. He brought Waller to the Criminal Investigation Division to interview him in reference to the case, but Waller declined.

According to reports, Waller did admit that he is a convicted felon.

During the investigation into the burglary, surveillance video surfaced reportedly showing Waller exiting the back door of the residence carrying two shotguns and one .50 caliber rifle. Following the viewing of that video, an additional warrant was obtained for Waller’s arrest.
