NGM seminar set for Tuesday

by Minden Press-Herald

Next Generation Minden will hold a seminar Tuesday Sept. 12 at Geaux Fresh from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. to bring together six generations of working individuals to discuss generational intelligence.

It’s the first time in history that our workforce includes six different generations: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Xennials, Millennials and Generation Z. Each generation brings its own view of the world, which creates both opportunities and threats to businesses. This demands Generational Intelligence.

Next Generation Minden, a local young professionals group, is hosting the upcoming seminar “6 Generations Working Side By Side.” Local faces from each generation will explain characteristics, management skills and techniques to help leverage the generational diversity in your workplace to enhance performance, increase productivity and maximize efficiency. They will share how to deliver and meet customer expectations as well as how to market products and services across generations of consumers.

Speakers include Traditionalist Carlton Protho, Baby Boomer Earl Meater, Xennial Chip Spurlock, Millennial Alicia Adams and Generation Z Josh Specht.

“Any manager, entrepreneur or business professional interested in advancing their career should attend this seminar,” Jennifer Spurlock, NGM Social chairwoman, said. “You will walk away empowered and equipped to communicate, connect and care for your customers and employees regardless of which generation they belong to.”

Tickets are $20 for NGM members and $25 for non-members. Lunch is included in the ticket price and tickets may be purchased online at eventbrite.com by searching Next Generation Minden, or, visit the NGM Facebook page.
