NLTCC breaks ground on new nursing wing at Mansfield campus

by Minden Press-Herald

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC) celebrated a major  milestone on February 3, 2025, with a groundbreaking ceremony for its new nursing wing at the  Mansfield campus. This expansion will allow the college to enhance its nursing program and help  meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in the region.

Local leaders and community partners joined NLTCC to commemorate the occasion, including  Representative Larry Bagley, Mansfield Mayor Thomas Jones, and DeSoto Regional Health System  CEO Todd Eppler. Each took a moment to speak about the impact this expansion will have on  Mansfield and the surrounding communities.

“The number of our nurses that come through this school is significant,” said Eppler. “We have  greatly benefited from it and are excited about our partnership and all the great things happening in  Mansfield.”

“This new nursing wing will create more opportunities for students to pursue high-wage, high demand careers while addressing the critical need for skilled healthcare professionals in our  region,” said Dr. Jayda Spillers, Chancellor of NLTCC. “As we break ground today, we look forward  to the impact this new facility will have on the future of healthcare in our community.”

NLTCC extends its gratitude to the many community partners who have supported this initiative  and helped make this project a reality.
