MINDEN, Louisiana – At Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College’s Minden Campus, four students from Mr. Jerry Watkins’ Advanced Manufacturing class have earned Haas Certification. The certified students are William McClung, Andrew Jeanise, Zachary Lowe, and Je’vondrick Taylor.
Haas Automation provides this certification to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional expertise in operating and maintaining Haas CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines. The program to earn the certificate is designed to provide the basic knowledge necessary to get started in the field of CNC machining. The courses are offered online and cover topics such as basic CNC machine operation, proper machine safety, and fundamental machining processes. After completing the online course, a hands-on test at a local Haas Factory Outlet is required to obtain the certificate.
Acquiring a Haas Certification is a significant accomplishment. It indicates that these students have mastered the art of CNC machining, a critical skill in today’s high-tech manufacturing sector. They’ve honed their abilities to program, set up, and troubleshoot Haas machines, which are widely used across Louisiana’s industrial landscape.
