Odell George Vining, 76, of Minden, Louisiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 17, 2025, in Shreveport. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church West Chapel in Minden with Bro. Leland Crawford officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior.
Odell was born May 19, 1948, in Delhi, LA. On August 8, 1969, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann. He worked as a machinist for over 40 years and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He especially loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and supporting his grandchildren in all their activities. He deeply cherished his Sunday School class and church family.
Odell was preceded in death by his parents, George and Melba Vining, and his sister, Charlotte Vining. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ann; sons, Odell Vining Jr. (Mary) and Scott Vining (Anne); brothers, Gary Vining (Martha) and Kendall Vining (Beverly); and six grandchildren: Michael, Faith, Luke, Cade, Anna Grace, and Joseph Vining. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and they lovingly called him “Pawpaw.”
