Phillips Elementary School celebrated literacy and culture with a Mardi Gras parade and reading party on March 4 as part of the Read Across America program.
Parents gathered to watch as students paraded with alphabet letters decorated to represent their assigned letter and miniature floats. Families also participated in reading activities following the parade.
The Minden High School band added excitement to the event, providing music as students marched.
