Young leaders at Project Reclaim recently expanded their skill sets with a videography workshop led by local videographer Lloyd Davis Jr.
Project Reclaim, a leadership academy based in Minden, focuses on empowering youth to excel academically, develop strong relationships, and hone leadership skills. Through its Youth Leadership Academy, students receive hands-on training in TV production and video editing, among other skills.
“Lloyd Davis Jr. teaches our kids videography. Last week, he started teaching them how to use editing software so they can learn to edit the videos they take,” said Ron Anderson, executive director of Project Reclaim. “Kids are media-driven; they love operating the camera equipment and doing videos. We want them to understand the dynamics behind it, not just the application. Our goal is to pique their interest and further their knowledge in this area.”
Anderson highlighted the program’s focus on giving students new opportunities to explore their interests and develop practical skills.
