by Minden Press-Herald

A Sarepta man was arrested and charged with domestic abuse battery with child endangerment following an incident that occurred on October 7 at a residence in the 1200 block of Tillman Street in Minden.

According to police reports, officers responded to a disturbance call and arrived at the scene to find a pregnant woman, identified as the victim, reporting that her boyfriend, Tyreak Johnson, 19, had physically assaulted her during an argument. The victim, who is approximately 38 weeks pregnant, stated that the argument began after Johnson became upset when she would not allow him to use her phone to call his mother. She said she offered to call his mother for him and held the phone while he spoke.

The victim recounted that Johnson then grabbed her by the hair and pushed her to the ground. Johnson, when questioned, admitted to pushing the victim during the altercation but claimed it was in response to her approaching him. He stated that when he pushed her, she fell onto her stomach and then ran out of the house, seeking help from a neighbor.

Two children, ages two and four, were reportedly outside the residence at the time of the incident. The victim informed officers that this was not the first time Johnson had physically assaulted her, noting a prior instance where he struck her in the back of the head.

Johnson was arrested at the scene, advised of his rights, and transported to the Minden Police Department, where he is awaiting transfer to the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
