Scheduled City Wide Power Outage at 2 PM Today

by Will Phillips

As a result of the severe thunderstorms the local area experienced, the City of Minden will be conducting a scheduled power outage to repair portions of the energy grid that suffered damages.

“This morning, strong winds caused a tree limb to damage a portion of our city’s main power line. To ensure the safety of our repair crews, we will have a citywide power outage today, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM. This interruption is anticipated to last approximately one hour,” said Mayor Nick Cox.

“I recognize that this may inconvenience many of you, and I sincerely apologize for any disruption to your day. We are committed to restoring power as swiftly and safely as possible while prioritizing the well-being of our workers and the reliability of our electrical infrastructure. Your patience and cooperation during this brief period is appreciated. I encourage all residents and businesses to prepare accordingly for the outage.”
