A special group of individuals received special recognition Monday when the Webster Parish School Board set aside time at their Monday meeting to introduce students, teachers and principals of the year for 2014.
Named principals of the year in each category were Dusty Rowland, elementary principal of the year from J.L. Jones Elementary; Cyndi Hair, middle school principal of the year from North Webster Jr. High School and Jeff Franklin, high school principal of the year from North Webster High School.
Topping the list of students of the year were three who were named outstanding at each level. Fifth grade student of the year is Anna Grace Harris, Haynes Mandino was selected eighth grade student of the year and Olivia Claire McIntyre was named 12th grade student of the year.
Ten other students were selected to represent their respective schools as students of the year. Fifth grade students, and their school, are Maddison Conley of Doyline High, Maya Merritt from Central Elementary, Sydni Richardson of North Webster Upper Elementary and Mason Haynes representing Brown Upper Elementary.
Eighth graders named students of the year from their schools are Raelie Prince, Lakeside Jr. High, Jake Watson from Doyline High and Caroline Franklin of North Webster Jr. High.
Selected from the 12th grade were Allison Powell of Lakeside High, Kathryn Murphy from Minden High and Faith Noe of Doyline High.
Webster Parish teachers of the year for 2014-15 at their respective schools were Theresa Downs, Brown Upper Elementary; Nicole Lea, Browning Elementary; Sara Chreene, Central Elementary; Monica Watson, Doyline Elementary; Cheryl Fayad, Doyline Middle; Don Watson, Doyline High; Beth Clark, J.E. Harper Elementary; Katrina Rhodes, J.L. Jones Elementary.
Also, Nathan Richardson, Lakeside Jr./Sr. High; Lisa Dick, Minden High; Gwenzetta Bradford, North Webster High; Elizabeth Lupo, North Webster Jr. High; Pam Hunter, North Webster Lower Elementary; Shauna Allen, North Webster Upper Elementary; Tessa Bryant, J.E. Phillips Middle; Vera Meadors, E.S. Richardson Elementary; Jessica Daigle, Webster Jr. High.
