Shreveport woman arrested for criminal mischief at daycare

by Minden Press-Herald

A Shreveport woman was arrested Monday morning after an incident at Little Step of Faith daycare on Highway 531.

Whitney Ogburn, 45, was charged with vagrancy and criminal mischief after reportedly sleeping in a dumpster on the daycare’s property. According to police, Ogburn startled children by jumping out of the dumpster as they passed by during morning drop-off hours.

The daycare’s complainant asked Ogburn to leave the property, but she instead approached the front door, requesting a coat or jacket. Despite repeated requests to leave, Ogburn remained on the premises, prompting the complainant to call 911.

Officers transported Ogburn to the Minden Police Department, where she was booked on charges of local prohibitory ordinances and criminal mischief.

No injuries were reported, and normal operations resumed at the daycare following the arrest.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
