Outdoor enthusiasts and families are invited to participate in the annual Lake Bistineau Spring Paddle on Saturday, May 17, an event hosted by Visit Webster Parish and set at Lake Bistineau State Park.
Participants will embark on a 5-mile paddle through the cypress- and tupelo-lined waters of Lake Bistineau. The event is open to kayaks, canoes and pirogues, with watercraft rentals available through Pleasure Point Rentals Bayou Dorcheat on a first-come, first-serve basis. Interested paddlers should contact 318-245-4809 to reserve.
Check-in begins at 8:00 AM at the state park’s boat launch, located at 103 State Park Road in Doyline. Safety instructions will be given at 8:30 AM, and paddlers will launch at 9:00 AM.
The event is free and open to the public. Following the paddle, attendees are invited to stay for a fish fry and live entertainment.
Participants are advised to bring life vests, water, sunscreen, and hats.
