Teen arrested for domestic abuse battery in Minden

by Minden Press-Herald

A Minden police officer responded to a disturbance on the 600 block of Marion Street on May 16 involving an alleged domestic altercation between Ke’erial Edwards and her boyfriend, Lajayden Harris, 17, of Doyline.

Upon arrival, the officer observed a large red bump on Edwards’ face. Edwards reported that Harris struck her while she was sitting on the couch, leading to a physical fight. Edwards confirmed that a small child was present during the altercation.

Edwards showed the officer the scene inside the house, including a hole in the wall she stated Harris had punched. Harris returned to the scene shortly after being called by his sister and provided his account, claiming they argued and Edwards threw objects at him, including a folding chair. Harris denied striking Edwards in the face but acknowledged scratches on his neck and face, stating they occurred as he tried to get away from her.

Harris was arrested and transported to the Minden Police Department, where he was booked for domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
