Two people sustained minor injuries early Sunday when multiple suspects opened fire in a Cotton Valley neighborhood, according to Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker.
The shooting occurred around 12:30 AM, and investigators from the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office are assisting Cotton Valley police in determining a motive.
“What we know right now is multiple shooters drove into the neighborhood, exited a vehicle and fired many shots, mostly at parked vehicles,” Parker said. “The two female victims were the only persons outside at the time and apparently were struck by bullet fragments. Their injuries, thankfully, were not serious.”
Authorities have collected evidence from the scene and are continuing to interview witnesses. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
“We’re very early into the investigation right now, but we will continue to work with Cotton Valley to gather information,” Parker said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-377-1515.
