Two women arrested for theft at Minden Walmart

by Minden Press-Herald

Two women were arrested for theft at a Minden Walmart after being caught attempting to leave the store with unpaid merchandise totaling $633.82.

A Minden police officer was dispatched to the Walmart following reports of theft. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with David Gears, the store’s loss prevention officer, who reported that two females were scanning some items while also placing unscanned items into bags and then into a shopping cart.

After the women finished checking out, the officer approached and escorted them to the loss prevention room. They were identified as Teenia Wright of Homer and Alisha Rabb of Bossier City. Both women had backpacks, which they claimed contained items they had brought into the store.

After advising them of their rights per Miranda, the officer obtained permission to search the backpacks. Several brand-new, unopened items were found. In Wright’s backpack, the officer discovered an orange prescription bottle with her name on it, containing various pills. Poison control identified the pills as Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride (muscle relaxant), Acetaminophen and Oxycodone Hydrochloride (narcotic analgesic combinations), and Acetaminophen and Oxycodone (narcotic analgesic).

Both Wright and Rabb were transported to the Minden Police Department without further incident. Wright was charged with theft, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of a legend drug. Rabb was charged with theft.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
