WPSB to host 16th Annual Back to School Bash

by Amber McDown

The Webster Parish School Board will host its 16th Annual Supply Drive Back to School Bash on Sunday, August 4, from 3 PM. to 6 PM. In Minden, the event will take place at Webster Jr. High School, while in Springhill, it will be held at the CAC Building.

The Bash will feature supplies, clothes, raffles, games, snacks, and entertainment. The first 50 students will receive a free t-shirt. Back for the first time since COVID restrictions were lifted, ten barbers will be at Webster Jr. High School to provide free standard haircuts for students pre-K through 12th grade. Haircuts will be provided by Woo’s Barber and Style Shop and Boss Man Barber College. Organizers are eager to provide a memorable event where students can reconnect with friends and meet dedicated teachers and administrators.

Ms. Hullaby highlighted the importance of this initiative, noting its impact on families in need. “The cost of required school supplies and uniforms can be overwhelming for many of our families,” Hullaby said. “Our goal is to ensure that every student has what they need to focus on their academic success.”

The Back to School Bash aims to foster community spirit, allowing students, families, and staff to celebrate together and ensuring every student starts the school year well-equipped and confident.
