The Witches Ride of Minden, hosted by Pearls of Purpose, Inc., is set to return for its second year on October 24, 2024. The event, which made a successful debut in 2023, will take place in downtown Minden and is expected to draw participants and spectators alike for an evening of spooky fun and fundraising.
Participants in the Witches Ride dress up as witches and parade through the streets on bicycles, golf carts, or on foot, all while supporting local causes. This year, Pearls of Purpose, Inc. will partner with the Webster Parish School Board to provide board-approved Christmas books to every first grader in the parish, including those in private schools. Additionally, the organization will work with the Webster Parish chapter of CASA to provide birthday parties and Christmas gifts for children in its programs.

The event kicks off with early registration at Say Baby on October 17 from 4:30-6:30 PM, followed by event-day check-in at 5 PM on October 24 at the corner of Broadway and West Pine Street. The ride begins at 6:35 PM and will be followed by a block party at Miller Quarters featuring food trucks, face painting, a Halloween movie, and festive tunes from DJ Kelly. A costume contest and themed festivities will add to the excitement, with categories for best individual witch, best coven, and best-decorated bicycle or golf cart.
Witches riding in the parade must be at least 18 years old. Tickets are $55 for the Witches Ride event ticket which includes the block party, and $12 for a block party only ticket. Children 10 years old or younger may attend the block party at no charge. For more information and registration details, visit the Witches RIde website at https://witchesrideminden.com.
