LSU is the No. 3 seed in the Spokane 1 Region and will host first- and second-round games in the NCAA Tournament.
The Tigers (28-5) face No. 14 San Diego State (25-9) in the first round Saturday at 9:15 p.m. The winner will face the winner between No. 6 Florida State (23-8) and No. 11 George Mason (27-5) Monday.
UCLA (30-2), the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed, is the top seed in the Spokane Region 1. North Carolina State (26-6) is No. 2.
LSU and NC State could meet in the regional semifinals. The Tigers defeated the Wolfpack 82-65 on Nov. 27 in a tournament in the Bahamas.
Former Parkway star Mikaylah Williams, a sophomore, has started all 33 games for LSU. She is averaging 17.2 points and 4.4 rebounds. She leads the Tigers with 112 assists.
Williams has been named one of five finalists for the Naismith Hall of Fame Small Forward of the Year Award.
She was one of three LSU players named to the All-SEC first team.
