National Night Out parties to be held Tuesday

Fourteen neighborhoods around Minden have signed up to host a block party to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness. Unless otherwise specified, party-goers will gather between 6 and 9 p.m. Tuesday for fun, fellowship and a visit from local elected officials and law enforcement.

District A

Mitzie & Darren Wilson– 704 McMullen St. – 6-9 p.m. – “A neighborhood full of unity, peace and love.” Estimated attendance is 75.

Chenica Jones – 609 Durwood Drive – 6-9 p.m. –“Building bridges while mending fences.” Estimated attendance is 35.

Viesta Jones & Joyce Smith, Hillside Apartments at 7700 Industrial Drive – 6-9 p.m. – “We have pride, come on over to Hillside.” Estimated attendance is 100.

District B

Anthony Dillard – 517 Chestnut Street – 6 p.m. – “Keeping it positive for the kids.” Estimated attendance is 35.

Shequita Kennon – 702 Carolina Street – 6-9 p.m. – “No drugs here!” Estimated attendance is 30.

Minden Historic Residential District – Academy Park – 6-9 p.m. – “Remembering our past, celebrating our future.” Estimated attendance is 100.

Walter Morgan – Woo’s Barber Shop at 401 Martin Luther King Drive – 6 p.m. – “Bringing Communities Together” Estimated attendance is 100.

Helen Terrell – 214 Martin Luther King Drive – 6 – 9 p.m. – “Neighbors coming together to fight crime.” Estimated attendance is 100

United Way of Northwest Louisiana (Jeri Bloxom) – 202 Miller Street – 6-9 p.m. – “Live United” Estimated attendance is 200

District C

Camilla Law – 713 Creighton Street – 6-8 p.m. – “Don’t do it again.” Estimated attendance is 65.

Town & Country Nursing Home – 614 Weston Street – 1-3 p.m. – “We’re not clowning around with drugs.” Estimated attendance is 50

Terry Kennedy – 310 N. Middle Landing – 6-9 p.m. – “Let’s fight crime.” Estimated attendance is 30

District D

District E

Donnie & Brandy Irby and Annie Bell Walker – 702 Claiborne Avenue – 6-9 p.m. “Claiborne is the place to be!” Estimated attendance is 50.

Ronnie & Glenda Broughton – 110 Germantown Road – 6-9 p.m. – “Together we stand.” (wear red, white and blue) Estimated attendance is 100.
