Solving problems via social media?

I am often amazed by the number of “experts“ that are offering their opinions on social media.

We know that our president has taken Twitter to vent and ridicule a host of subjects and persons. Perhaps that is why more people are doing the same on all forms of social media.

However, as my dad always used to tell me about writing editorials, pointing out problems is easy. The real challenge for us all is to come up with viable solutions.

Social media is no different. It is easy to create a post (or comment on someone else’s) lamenting this or that. It is a different thing altogether to come up with solutions, get involved, and be the change.

So many people think they know “what’s really going on” and yet they do not have all the facts.

There are more than two sides to every story. There are multiple sides with just as many potential solutions.

Expressing an opinion of a possible solution to a problem is often met with a plethora of naysayers.

Although social media is not anonymous, people tend to be more brazen on social media that they would be face-to-face.

Our community, regardless of location, has many problems that need to be solved.

Some solutions appear to be simple, while others seem very complex. It would be nice to see actual solutions being suggested on social media rather than what we see now.

Perhaps that’s too much to ask for. But I can hope, can’t I?
