Funeral services for Mr. Teddie Lee Hanson, 63, was at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Cotton Valley with Bro. Dave Acklin and Bro. Frank DeLoach officiating. Interment followed in Cotton Valley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Springhill.

Visitation was Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 7 at First Baptist Church in Cotton Valley.

Mr. Hanson was born on Nov. 10, 1952 to James Edward and Nettie Rose Morgan Hanson in Minden and passed away on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 in Shreveport. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Teddie pursued his hobbies with a passion, whether it was hunting with dogs, building his own rodeo arena to rope cows, smoking sausage, or racing thoroughbreds. He spent countless hours, building fences, riding tractors, baling hay, and taking care of his cows. He loved the outdoors, watching westerns, and family cookouts. With that same passion, he loved God and his family.

He spent 37 years in the logging business. He had a loyal crew that he credited for much of his success. Special thanks to Isaac Crow, Tracy Manning, and Edward Coyle for many years of dedicated service. In 2009, he was named Louisiana Logger of the Year. He served as president of the Cotton Valley Hunting Club.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara Hanson; two sons, Micah Hanson and wife, Lezlie of Sarepta, Josh Hanson of Cotton Valley; daughter, Carla Carter and husband, Chad of Benton, LA; father, Edward Hanson and wife, Patricia; four grandchildren, Jacob Hanson, Reese Hanson, Ila Rae Hanson, Ava Claire Carter; brother, Gene Hanson and wife, Tammy of Cotton Valley; two sisters, Lynnie Dragland and husband, Tommy of Benton, AR, Pennye Wood of Minden; five nieces, Mandy Nix, Abby Willoughby, Rachel Young, Allison Maxwell, Morgan Hanson; four nephews, John Wood, Brad Hanson, Chip Mitchell, Todd Mitchell; sister-in-law, Linda Mitchell and husband, Ronnie.

Mr. Hanson was preceded in death by his mother.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hanson, Roger Hanson, J.T. Hanson, Troy Hanson, Tony Hanson, Edward Coyle, Barry Perkins and James Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Carroll Slaton, Sammy Sanders and Donald Ray Perkins.
