The Minden Crimson Tide and Lady Tider soccer teams were in action Monday for their first district contests against the Bossier Bearkats and Lady Bearkats.
Both teams are off to solid starts in the 2015-16 season, but with district play beginning it was important that both teams get wins, and they did just that.
The Crimson Tide struggled early, but stuck together and got the job done in the second half, topping Bossier 5-4.
Down 3-0 at intermission, The Tide rallied to outscore the Bearkats 5-1 in the second half.
Benton Lewis had two goals to lead the Tide and Walker Hardy, Bobby Moorman and Pedro Hernandez all had goals.
The Minden Lady Tiders shutout the Lady Bearkats, 2-0.
The Lady Tiders had a tough time scoring on a cold night, but scratched and clawed their way to the victory behind goals from Emily Frye and Caroline Ensminger.
