8 arrested in warrant roundup

SPRINGHILL – The North Webster Narcotics Task Force made several arrests on drug-related offenses Wednesday.

Demarcus Coarsell Evans, 30, of the 900 block of 1st Street SE in Springhill, was arrested for distribution of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of Schedule I and II CDS in the presence of a minor. Bond was set at $176,000.

cocaine) with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of Schedule I and II CDS in the presence of a minor. Bond was set at $96,000.

Detective Ronald Wedgeworth, Lt. Shawn Baker, with the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd made contact with McQuarter and Evans at the 1st Street SE residence to serve warrants on Evans for distribution of methamphetamine and warrants on McQuarter for issuing worthless checks.

When they made contact, agents detected a strong odor of what they believed to be marijuana inside. In plain view, they saw what appeared to be a cigar blunt and a set of digital scales. They refused to allow law enforcement to search the residence, so upon attainment of a search warrant, agents discovered two baggies of suspected marijuana and three large baggies of suspected cocaine.

A child under the age of 10 was inside the residence at the time the warrant was served.

In another case, agents arrested three at a Springhill truck stop following an arranged buy.

Tonya Elouise Dominique, 42, of the 600 block of Baker Street in Springhill, was arrested for criminal conspiracy to possession of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine). Bond has not been set.

Michael Don Adams, 26, of the 400 block of Percy Burns Road in Springhill, was arrested for criminal conspiracy to possession of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine). Bond has not been set.

Gary Dean Goessman, 54, of the 100 block of First Street in Springhill, was arrested for criminal conspiracy to possession of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine). Bond was set at $5,000.

Goessman featuredAccording to the police report, task force agents arranged to make a buy of methamphetamine through Dominique via cell phone. Dominique reportedly asked for a quarter gram of methamphetamine.

Unknown to her, she was speaking with a narcotics agent, and the two agreed to make a transaction at the Relay Station in Springhill. The agent told her he would leave the drugs inside a pill bottle on a light pole at the truck stop.

During surveillance of the area, agents observed an older model pick up truck with three people inside pull into the truck stop, where Dominique and Adams reportedly exited the vehicle and went to the light pole to retrieve the pill bottle. Adams and Dominique went back to the vehicle, where agents surrounded the vehicle and took all three into custody.

They were all booked at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

In another arrest, Timothy Dickey, 25, of the 400 block of Main Street in Cotton Valley, was arrested on an active warrant from the Office of Probation and Parole and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Agents located Dickey on North Ark Street and during a pat down for officers’ safety, two suspected methamphetamine pipes were discovered.

Sarepta, was taken into custody for possession of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $6,000.

According to the police report, Allen was the driver of the vehicle at the time of Timothy Dickey’s arrest. During a search of the vehicle, agents reportedly located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside her purse.

In another arrest Wednesday, Erica Marie Dickey, 27, of the 400 block of Main Street in Cotton Valley, was arrested for possession of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $51,000.

Agents obtained two warrants for her arrest on the above offenses and received a tip as to her whereabouts. She was located, taken into custody and booked at the Springhill Police Department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
