Minden’s Porter Neal and Brayden Britton qualified for the Class 4A state meet Wednesday.
Neal won the boys 400 in 49.54 seconds in the Region I-4A meet at Tioga High School. Washington-Marion’s Jaylon Nelson was second in 50.33.
Britton finished second in the boys 110 hurdles in 16.36. West Ouachita’s Lorenzo Price won in 16.10.
The top three finishers in each individual event and relay qualified for the state meet May 10 at LSU. Fourth-place finishers serve as alternates.
Minden’s Pryncess Lathon came close to qualifying in the girls 100 with a fourth-place finish in 13.10. Third-place finisher Malayia Davis of Northwood ran av13.07.
Minden finished fourth in the boys 4X400 relay.
