Active Recovery will host an open house for its new women’s residential substance abuse rehabilitation center, “The Retreat,” on May 16 from 2 PM to 6 PM.
Located at 1360 Bistineau Lake Road next to the RV park—though the official address is 120 Blue Pond—the facility is situated on 30 acres of waterfront property on Lake Bistineau. The event will include a crawfish boil and guided tours of the facility, which is the first of its kind in Louisiana, according to organizers.
The Retreat will offer a 28-day program for up to eight women per month. The facility’s curriculum includes relapse recovery tools, childhood trauma therapy, codependency support, substance abuse education, and nurturing parenting classes. Additional programming features kayaking, gardening, yoga, meditation, life skills development, and recreational activities.
