A large crowd turned out in 1980s attire for Seeds Women’s Center’s themed fundraiser, “Totally 80s Bingo,” held Friday, May 30 at the Minden Civic Center.

The event brought in more than $9,000 to support the nonprofit’s free pregnancy and family services, surpassing the center’s fundraising goal.

“We raised over $9,000! Surpassed our goal! We are hoping to make Seeds Totally 80s Bingo an annual event,” said Amber Bradford, executive director of Seeds.

Attendees paid $25 each for a night of bingo, music and community engagement. Many embraced the 1980s theme by dressing in era-inspired clothing, adding to the event’s festive atmosphere.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Seeds Women’s Center, which recently moved into a new facility at 308 Pine Street. The center provides free services including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, parenting classes and counseling.

Sponsorships from individuals and businesses also contributed to the event’s success.
