A Shreveport woman was arrested Monday morning in connection with a shoplifting incident at the Dollar General in Heflin.
Deputies with the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the store at approximately 10:40 AM on June 23 after receiving a report of a suspected shoplifter. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the suspect, identified as Samantha Anderson, 38.
According to the report, Anderson was advised of her Miranda rights in the parking lot. Following the advisement, she admitted to stealing a pack of socks, a phone charger, and headphones with a charger. The phone charger was found in her front left pocket, while the remaining items were located in her purse.
Deputies noted that Anderson initially provided false information multiple times before eventually confessing.
Further investigation revealed Anderson had two active warrants from the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office for theft and trespassing. She was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center and booked on charges of theft and being a fugitive from another jurisdiction.
Authorities also reported that Anderson has three prior theft charges in her criminal history, with incidents dating back to 2011.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
