A Homer man has been arrested in connection with a gang-related shooting that occurred during a barbecue in Minden earlier this year.
Jayshun Damarcus Miller, 45, was arrested Thursday, June 26, at the Minden Police Department on multiple felony charges.
Miller faces four counts of attempted second-degree murder, one count of illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property, and four counts of simple criminal damage to property.
According to a report from the Minden Police Department, the charges stem from an April 27 incident in which four unidentified individuals exited a silver Honda Accord and opened fire outside a gathering around 11:55 PM. A total of 53 rounds were fired at multiple people attending a barbecue. One person was grazed by a bullet.
Through the investigation, detectives identified Miller as the driver of the vehicle and one of the shooters. The incident was determined to be gang-affiliated.
Claiborne Parish detectives located and captured Miller on June 25. He was formally arrested the following day on an active warrant by Minden Police.
The investigation remains ongoing, and detectives are continuing efforts to identify the other three suspects involved in the shooting.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
