LaMa Animal Rescue will host a fundraising event themed “Splish Splash Game Night” on Friday, July 19, at the Springhill Civic Center, 101 Machen Drive. Doors will open at 5PM, with games beginning at 6PM.
The evening will feature a costume contest, games, concessions, door prizes, and bingo. Proceeds from the $20 entry fee will support LaMa’s ongoing animal rescue efforts across northwest Louisiana.
LaMa Animal Rescue, staffed by volunteers, operates through donations and fundraising events. “It’s expensive to operate, but the results are rewarding,” said Michelle Lewis of LaMa Animal Rescue. “We keep operating on faith and the generosity of those who support our work.”
The organization focuses on rescuing stray, abused, and at-risk animals and uses a foster care network to provide temporary homes until the animals are transported to pre-approved rescues in the New England area, where they are adopted.
LaMa also works to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spaying and neutering and providing regular medical care.
