Junior high and high school students participating in the first week of Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College’s (NLTCC) third annual Nuts, Bolts, & Thingamajig Manufacturing Camp got to test their craftsmanship with a hands-on project.
The students built their own fishing poles using industrial tools and techniques they learned throughout the week. On Thursday, they wrapped up the project by fishing with their custom-made poles in a stocked swimming pool on campus.
The program provides hands-on training in welding, industrial maintenance, CDL, and other skilled trades. NLTCC is offering a second week of camp for a new group of students July 21-24.
