A Minden man was arrested last week after police said he stole steaks from a local grocery store and was later found to have an outstanding warrant for another theft.
On August 20, officers responded to Brookshire’s after receiving a report of stolen steaks. Police said they located 39-year-old Dameionia Fashun Gilbert walking on Pennsylvania Avenue, where he was found in possession of five stolen steaks.
Gilbert was taken into custody and read his rights, according to the report. Police said it was also discovered that he had an active arrest warrant for an unrelated theft.
He was booked on charges of simple theft and the outstanding warrant, then transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
