NLTCC earns national and state rankings in 2025 reports

by Minden Press-Herald

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College has received recognition on both the national  and state levels in three recent reports ranking community and technical colleges.

In a study released by SmartAsset, NLTCC was ranked No. 21 among community colleges  nationwide. The report analyzed 585 two-year colleges across the country using factors such as  tuition and fees, student-to-faculty ratios, and retention rates.

Additionally, NLTCC was included on USA TODAY’s inaugural list of the Top Vocational Schools for  2025, developed in partnership with market research firm Statista. This national ranking evaluated  institutions on graduation rates, graduate salaries, repayment of net cost, social mobility, and  diversity.

Closer to home, Niche placed NLTCC No. 4 among community colleges in Louisiana in its 2025  report. Niche’s ratings combine federal education data with student reviews, focusing on  academics, affordability, and overall student experience.

“We are honored that NLTCC is being recognized at both the state and national levels,” said Dr.  Jayda Spillers, Chancellor. “These rankings highlight the dedication of our faculty and staff and  show that a community college education is critical in opening doors for our students and  strengthening our communities.”

With campuses in Mansfield, Minden, and Shreveport, NLTCC offers hands-on training in high demand fields such as Allied Health, Industrial Technology, and Manufacturing Technology.  Students can pursue certificates, technical diplomas, and associate degrees, with financial aid and  advising available to support their success.

Registration is still open for the second fall term, which begins October 13th. To learn more, visit  nltcc.edu or call 318.371.3035 to connect with the student services team.
