Karen’s Korner: Life is precious

 Life is Precious:

In “It’s a Wonderful Life,” we struggled through with the main character, George – he finds himself at the end of his adventure, realizing that life is truly an adventure and an experience worth going through, even with the bad, trying, difficult moments; even when we want to give up or give in, there seems to be something that gives us a little more strength to pull us up and allow us to continue.

I think I have mentioned before that Charles Swindoll is one of my favorite writers. In his book, “Intimacy With the Almighty,” he pens these words, “An inner restlessness grows within us when we refuse to get alone and examine our own hearts, including our motives. As our lives begin to pick up the debris that accompanies a lot of activities and involvements, we can train ourselves to go right on, to be busy in the Lord’s work. Unless we discipline ourselves to pull back, to get alone for the hard work of self-examination in times of solitude, serenity will remain only a distant dream.”

As our lives begin to pick up the debris that accompanies a lot of activities and involvement, we can train ourselves to go on. What do you think he means by this statement? How can we have a better understanding of life if we live it in such a way that we miss the very things that we are here to experience and see? I think that is why, at times, we do not realize the fact that life is so very precious, and in spite of it all, there are many blessings that we need to see and experience.

Let’s pause for a moment and reflect on our lives and think about just how very precious life is for each of us.

Reflect on the following: Why is my life precious?

  •  My Relationship with my Creator
  • My Family
  • My Home
  • My Church
  • My Friends
  • My Community
  • My Activities

Life is very important, and the more we age, the more we know the importance and significance of life. May we live it to the fullest for as long as we possibly can.

Live Life, and Love It.
