Shreveport man arrested in Elm Street break-in

by Minden Press-Herald

A Shreveport man was arrested Wednesday after police found him asleep inside a residence on Elm Street that he was not authorized to enter, according to Minden police.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Elm Street around 12:13 PM October 1 after a report of a suspicious person seen with a beer near the residence. A neighbor told officers the homeowner was at work and no one was supposed to be inside.

Police said the front screen door was unlocked and the wooden door was ajar. After announcing themselves and receiving no response, officers entered the home and found Ryan Gamble Hale, 46, asleep in a bed.

Hale was ordered at gunpoint to roll onto his stomach and was handcuffed without incident, police said. He was charged with unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, a felony.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
