During the October 13 regular meeting of the Webster Parish School Board, Central Elementary School counselor Crystal Heard was recognized as the Employee of the Month for October. The award was presented by Kevin Thompson of Taylor and Sons.
Heard, who previously taught kindergarten for many years before transitioning to her current counseling role, was commended for her dedication to students and leadership within the school.
“Mrs. Heard transferred from teaching kindergarten for many years to serving as our school counselor this year. She has thrived in this position,” her letter of recommendation stated. “Mrs. Heard serves as an advocate for our students, she has given of her own time and resources when she sees a child in need. Mrs. Heard also serves as the chair of our PBIS committee. She is frequently coming up with new ways to reward and motivate our students. Mrs. Heard’s professionalism and dedication to Central Elementary School are invaluable.”
