by Amber McDown

The second annual Jambin’ on Main Jambalaya Cookoff will return to downtown Minden on Saturday, November 8, bringing friendly competition and local flavor to Main Street.

The cookoff will take place in the alley between Under Dawgs Sports Grill and Swan & Crow Tattoo Parlor. Teams will compete for cash prizes, plaques, and bragging rights as they cook up their best jambalaya recipes. Public tasting for the People’s Choice Award will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM.

Prizes include $1,000 and an engraved pot for first place, $300 for second place, and $200 for third. The People’s Choice winner will receive a stainless branded paddle and gift cards to local downtown businesses.

Organizers say the event continues to grow in popularity as part of the annual Main to Main weekend, combining friendly rivalry with hometown pride.
