Road District A (2.65) mills (an estimated $521,600)
and Road District B (3.92) mills (an estimated $454,000)
The Road District taxes are a 10 -year property tax for the purpose of construction, maintaining and repairing roads and bridges throughout each District.
The funds derived from the renewal of the property tax are used only in the district in which the tax is specified for. The budgeted funds are used to purchase road materials, gas and oil, maintain and or purchase equipment (road equipment), municipality roads, and the maintenance of the district barns and equipment facilities.
The Road District taxes make up approximately 25% of the total Road budget. The budget includes: Salaries and benefits for road employees; Oil and Gas, Equipment, Maintenance of Equipment, maintenance and construction of right of way, cutting of rights of way, culverts and other bridge and drainage work, professional services such as engineering, road barns upkeep and maintenance, striping of right of way, road signs, municipality roads, and other related work for the 600 plus miles of parish rights of way and roads in Webster Parish.
Road District A is the southern section of the parish from an imaginary line at approximately Couchwood – Township line 21/ 22 South to Bossier Parish line. Included in Road District A are the municipalities of Minden, Sibley, Dixie Inn, Heflin, Dubberly, and Doyline.
Road District B is the northern section of the parish from an imaginary line at approximately Couchwood – Township line 21/22 North to the Arkansas State line. Included in the Road District B are the municipalities of Springhill, Cullen, Cotton Valley, Sarepta, and Shongaloo
