Anne Aldredge Morton

Anne Aldredge Morton (Funderburk), PhD, passed away Tuesday October 28, 2025, at home in Dallas, TX.  She was the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Truman Aldredge, Minister of First Baptist Church in Minden during 1960’s and 1970’s. Survived by husband, William Funderburk, son David Herring and daughter DeAnne Herring and their children and her grandaughter. Graduate of LSU, SMU, and North Texas University, she was retired from Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, serving as Head of the Psychology Dept.  She was active in Progressive political causes and was known and respected by Legislators and citizens alike for her knowledge of state politics and politicians. She was greatly admired for her courage and tenacity in pursuing social issues she felt were important to a civilized society. She did her best to make every moment of her life count.
