Shoppers filled downtown Minden Saturday for the fall edition of Shop the Block, an event celebrating local businesses, food and community spirit.
The event, held from 8 AM to 2 PM, drew strong attendance despite a brisk chill in the air — a sign, many said, that fall had finally arrived. Visitors explored boutiques, restaurants and the newly opened Minden Farmers Market, which featured local produce, homemade goods and crafts in the alley beside Brick Street Coffee.
A live DJ provided music between Pippa Lane and Purvéy Minden, adding to the festive atmosphere as shoppers browsed for early holiday gifts and special deals.
Parish Design Co. hosted a book signing with local author Landon Walker, and Geaux Fresh offered a limited lunch menu, giving visitors a chance to refuel between stops.
The Greater Minden Chamber encouraged residents to “support local, shop small and enjoy downtown,” highlighting the city’s growing downtown district and its mix of new and established businesses.
