Christmas spirit will take center stage Friday, November 21, at 10AM when the City of Minden unveils its new Letters to Santa Mailbox during a press conference in front of City Hall.
Mayor Nick Cox will announce that Santa personally called City Hall to request a special mailbox so he can receive even more letters from Minden children as Christmas approaches. The bright, holiday-themed box will offer youngsters a direct line to the North Pole throughout the season.
Tracy Campbell will recognize the local contributors who designed, built and decorated the mailbox, including Patony Morrow, Perryman Welding, Jordan Tanner, Morris Busby and Sarah Overall.
Santa is expected to be on-site for the unveiling, offering greetings, speaking briefly to families and posing for photos. City officials are encouraging families to mark their calendars and join in the festive kickoff to the holiday season.
