Chilly weather and Christmas lights set the backdrop Friday night as participants took part in the annual Reindeer Run hosted by Minden Medical Center Rehab Services.
The cool temperatures made for fast times on the Ridgewood neighborhood course, where the top five finishers were all youth runners from the Shreveport–Bossier area.
H. Heard of Haughton placed first overall with a time of 6:16.46. C. McGee of Shreveport finished second at 6:32.06, followed closely by L. Paine of Shreveport, who was the top female finisher with a time of 6:33.35.
Rounding out the top five were H. McDaniel of Shreveport at 6:33.59, followed by L. Gibbs of Shreveport.
Runners completed the nighttime course lined with holiday decorations, continuing a community tradition that helps kick off the Christmas season in Minden.
