Living Word Minden and Champion Life held their fourth annual bike giveaway Saturday, December 20, at Victory Park, drawing a large crowd on a clear day for the community event.
Organizers distributed 150 bicycles, 40 tablets and numerous footballs and basketballs during the giveaway. Registered winners were selected through drawings, while families gathered to enjoy inflatables, music and dancing throughout the afternoon.

The event is part of an ongoing mission to share the message of Jesus, organizers said.
“God loves you, and we love you,” said Roddy Shaffer of Champion Life. “This ain’t about a bicycle; this ain’t about a tablet. Everything we brought today is temporary except one thing — Jesus. It’s not about religion, it’s about having a relationship with the Lord through Jesus.”
Pastor Trey Waller of Living Word Minden also addressed the crowd during the event.

“Jesus changes everything. If you’re lacking somewhere, Jesus is the answer,” Waller said.
Champion Life representatives said the organization has hosted similar outreach events for more than 20 years across several states. For Saturday’s giveaway, the group traveled eight hours one way from Florida to participate and share their message with the Minden community.
