The Minden Lady Tiders defeated the Byrd Lady Jackets 39-30 Thursday on the first day of the Benton Lady Tiger Classic.
Brooklyn Jefferson led Minden (12-7) with 17 points. LeLe Johnson added nine on three 3-pointers.
Minden faces Merryville (15-7) Friday at 3:30 p.m. on Day 2 of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide fell to Northwood 49-40 on the first day of the Swords and Stripes Shootout hosted by Haughton.
Minden (6-6) plays Haughton Friday at 7.
North Webster swept Doyline in boys and girls games at Doyline. The Knights won 66-54 and the Lady Knights won 51-20.
The North Webster boys improved to 8-6. Doyline dropped to 13-8.
MaKiyah White and Nazaria Caldwell led the Lady Knights (7-8) with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Shakyra Hawkins added nine.
North Webster also defeated Magnolia School of Excellence 34-25 Tuesday night. Hawkins and Caldwell scored 14 each.
