The Glenbrook Lady Apaches picked up a victory while the North Webster Lady Knights lost a heartbreaker in their District 1-3A opener Tuesday night.
Glenbrook edged Claiborne Christian 42-40 at Glenbrook. North Webster fell to Richwood 58-56 in overtime at North Webster.
In another girls game, Lakeside lost to Many 56-38 in a District 3-2A opener at Lakeside.
In boys games, Glenbrook fell to Claiborne Christian 52-44, North Webster lost to Richwood and Lakeside fell to Many.
At Glenbrook, the Lady Apaches notched their second victory of the season. Claiborne Christian dropped to 8-10.
At North Webster, Nazaria Caldwell led the Lady Knights (7-9) with 20 points. Shakyra Hawkins added 12 and MaKiyah White 11.
North Webster rallied from a 27-15 halftime deficit. The Lady Knights outscored the Lady Rams 18-8 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to two.
The game went into overtime tied at 44. White hit two 3-pointers and scored seven points in OT but the North Webster came up just short.
Malasia Chisley and Alyssa Carter led Richwood (9-9) with 23 and 21 points, respectively.
The North Webster boys dropped to 8-7. Richwood improved to 12-5.
