Eight inmates escape East Carroll Parish jail

Lake Providence – As previously reported by the East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office, eight inmates escaped from the Riverbend Detention Center during the early morning hours on January 30, 2026. The East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office has requested that the Louisiana State Police Detectives–Monroe Field Office assume the lead role in locating and apprehending the fugitives. The East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office will serve as the lead agency in the investigation into the escape.

KNOWN INFORMATION – INMATE ESCAPE

At approximately 1:20 a.m., the following inmates were reported missing from the Riverbend Detention Center:

Fugitives / Not in Custody

·       Destin Brogan, 22

·       Kevin Slaughter, 25

·       Kelin Looney, 21

·       Krisean Salinas, 21

·       Koplelon Vicknair, 19

Located / In Custody

·       Savon Wheeler, 31 – Captured and in custody

·       Hugo Molino, 27 – Captured and in custody

·       Trenton Taplin, 29 – Captured and in custody

All fugitives are considered violent offenders. Do not approach under any circumstances. If you observe or have information regarding their whereabouts, contact law enforcement immediately.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the fugitives is urged to contact Louisiana State Police Troop F at 318-345-0000 or the East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-559-2800.

Information may also be provided anonymously through the Louisiana State Police online reporting system by visiting lsp.org and selecting “Report Suspicious or Criminal Activity,” or by calling the LSP Fusion Center Hotline at 1-800-434-8007.
