Shreveport, LA – January 30, 2026 – Today marks a defining moment for Ascentek, and Shreveport Louisiana. We’re thrilled to announce that we have officially broken ground on our transformative Manufacturing Assistance Facility (MAF) expansion at our Shreveport location – an investment that signals the start of a new chapter for our operations and the communities we serve.
This groundbreaking isn’t just a construction project – it’s a commitment. With an investment of more than $50 million, we’re building a future of advanced manufacturing and distribution to meet rising global demand and deliver even greater value to our customers and their end users.
What’s Happening?
The groundbreaking kicked off the construction of the 270,000 square-foot MAF, connected to our existing site. This state-of-the-art addition will feature:
· Advanced material handling systems
· Expanded storage capacity
· A cutting-edge battery management facility
These enhancements will position Ascentek for long-term scalability and operational excellence.
Why It Matters
The expansion is projected to create 91 new direct jobs while retaining 105 existing positions. According to Louisiana Economic Development, the ripple effect could generate 338 jobs regionally, reinforcing Shreveport’s role as a hub for advanced manufacturing.
A Shared Vision
Justyn Dixon, President and CEO of the North Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP), emphasized the regional impact of the investment: “Ascentek’s expansion is exactly the kind of forward-looking investment we strive to attract to North Louisiana, and proof that companies choosing to locate in North Louisiana can be successful here. This project strengthens Shreveport’s position as a center for advanced manufacturing, creates high-quality jobs, and demonstrates long-term confidence in our workforce and infrastructure. We’re proud to support Ascentek as they continue to grow and innovate here.”
Our President and CEO, Chad Baker, echoed that sentiment:
“We’re committing to a future of sustainable growth here – developing talent, advancing safe battery charging and distribution and shaping a hub where innovation and opportunity compound year after year.”
Looking Ahead
Construction will span 12-15 months, with completion targeted for Q1 2027. We’ll share updates on milestones, hiring opportunities and progress as we move forward.
