The Piney Hills Louisiana Master Gardeners will host its 2026 Buds & Blooms gardening program on Saturday, February 28, at First Methodist Church, 903 Broadway in Minden.
Registration opens at 8:30 AM, with lectures scheduled from 9 AM until noon. Admission is $15.
Guest speakers include John Michael Kelly, who will present “Wildflowers”; Dalorie Moller, presenting “Lasagna Gardening”; and Mitzi Thomas, who will discuss “Fertilizers & Pesticides.”
In addition to the educational sessions, organizers will offer potted bulbs for sale, food, door prizes, and a raffle. All proceeds will benefit 4-H youth gardening projects and scholarships.
This year’s featured raffle item is a 3-foot by 6-foot raised planter with 10 bags of soil. The planter was built and donated by Master Gardener Jerry Ketchell, and the soil was donated by Minden Farm & Garden. Raffle tickets will be available at the door for $5 each or five for $20.
